Standard Mine Technical Advisory Group

The Standard Mine Technical Advisory Group (SMTAG) is a 501(c)(3) organization in Crested Butte, CO established in 2005 to assist EPA with reclamation of the Standard Mine, a Superfund Site located in the Coal Creek Watershed.  The SMTAG Board is made up of six community members with technical and local expertise related to the Standard Mine Clean-up.

The Board consists of three elected positions: a president, vice president, and treasurer/secretary; and three members at large. SMTAG has hired an administrator to oversee the financial aspects of the organization and the TAG, as well as assist the organization and the technical advisor with publicity and outreach during the process.

Many of the SMTAG Board of Directors consists of community members also serving on the Coal Creek Watershed Coalition Board of Directors.
